PVC membraneinstallation
Reinforced PVC membrane in a new pool, or over a shell that is ready for it — laid over a geotextile underlay and welded edge to edge on site.
The membrane is not made to a pattern in a factory. It is cut to the pool and welded together on site, seam by seam — around every step, bench, corner, drain and fitting — so the finished surface is one piece.
Installing a PVC membrane involves a lot of careful, detailed work. That is why we do it ourselves, the two of us, whenever possible: we trust each other completely, and “okay” is not good enough while we are working. Every detail has to be done right. Only then will the finished pool be okay.
We are certified by RENOLIT (ALKORPLAN installer certification) and trained by SOPREMA (SOPREMAPOOL), and we install membranes from RENOLIT, Poolside by CGT and SOPREMA. Which one suits a pool is decided per project — see Membranes.

How it is done
Six steps, on our own jobs
Every photograph below was taken on a pool we lined.
Geotextile underlay
A geotextile layer goes down first, over the floor and the walls, cut to every curve, step and bench of the shell.
The membrane is welded
Sheets of reinforced PVC membrane are laid over the underlay and welded to each other on site, seam by seam, walls and floor.
Steps, benches and corners
The places where a membrane has to be made to fit: cut, shaped and welded by hand, one at a time.
Fittings and flanges
Every drain, return, light and skimmer is cut out and sealed with a flange. In our largest pool there were 2,500 of them.
Water
Then the pool is filled — and stays full.
Why just the two of us
If you do something just “okay” a hundred times, one of those “okays” will not be okay
Water does not forgive that mistake. The pool will leak or develop wrinkles. That is why we work with just the two of us whenever possible, and why our track record has no leaking or wrinkled pools.
We hold the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN installer certification and SOPREMAPOOL training certificates; every certificate, and every company document, is published in full on our card.

How do I get a price?
Send us the pool’s location, its history and current condition, and when you expect the work to begin — with photographs if you have them. Every estimate is prepared by us after we review the pool. Request an estimate.
Which membranes do you install?
Reinforced PVC membrane systems from RENOLIT, Poolside by CGT and SOPREMA. We have sample books from all three manufacturers, and the most suitable product is chosen for each project based on its requirements, desired appearance and budget.
Do you work outside the Toronto area?
Yes. Our office is in Woodbridge, Ontario, and we take projects across Canada — our first pool here was in Winnipeg. On-site visits within 40 km of Woodbridge are free; travel expenses may apply for longer distances.
Do you work for pool companies?
In most cases we work as subcontractors for pool companies. Several of them have already invited us back for multiple projects.
